Felixstowe Community Radio 107.5FM Public File
Felixstowe Community Radio (Felixstowe Radio, “FXR”) in Felixstowe, Suffolk, and each local radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels etc. These requirements are set out in the station “Format”, a document issued by Ofcom, the UK’s radio regulator. This Public File contains details of the elements that Ofcom regulate, such as music and news. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output.
Note: Listen Again services, online versions of the station including variances as well as video content supplied by Felixstowe Community Radio has no requirement for a public file.
Ofcom
Ofcom, the Office of Communications, is the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries, with responsibilities across television, radio, telecommunications and wireless communications services. Ofcom has published reports and regulations on community radio, which we abide by.
Format

Operational Information
Felixstowe Community Radio is a community radio station, available 24 hours a day and aimed at the entire community. The Felixstowe Radio FM schedule is broadcast on FM across Felixstowe and Harwich and via the internet live.
Felixstowe Community Radio is set to provide local information and entertainment output, allowing members of the community to broadcast on the station following a course. Our key commitments hold details on the type of programming we are expected to produce in percentages.
Felixstowe Community Radio output is automated overnight and when required, some shows may be pre-recorded or repeated.
News
Felixstowe Community Radio broadcasts national news from Radio News Hub during 7am – 6pm daily and overnight 12am – 7am. National Weather is broadcast from Radio News Hub overnight and at any time where local Weatherquest weather can not be broadcast, for example, in the event a pre-recorded/repeated programme is being broadcast. Local Weatherquest weather is read by Felixstowe Radio presenters and local news stories are read by Felixstowe Radio presenters.
A 30 second national advert is run once per hour as per the Terms of Service provided to Felixstowe Radio by Radio News Hub. – This advertisement provides no income or profit to Felixstowe Community Radio.
Local news broadcast in our output has been sourced and researched independent by volunteers and/or guests/listeners.
The Programme Schedule
Our schedule is formatted to provide weekday Breakfast, Lunchtime and Tea-time (“Drive-Time”). We run a slightly different format schedule on evenings and weekends. Our schedule is available 24/7 on our website here.

Felixstowe Community Radio often works with the community to help promote local charities and events.

DAB
Felixstowe Community Radio is not available on Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) but we are committed to a Digital Britain. We are currently available on 107.5FM in Felixstowe and online on felixstoweradio.org.uk and via TuneIn.
